Jennifer MacDonald is the Founder of Abundant Thinkers; a pre-school that accepts individuality, challenges mediocrity and applauds all outcomes.
Jennifer launched her working career by teaching Kindergarten. From there she was given an opportunity to become a Special Needs teacher and taught a Learning Strategies Program. This led her to teaching Elementary school aged children on a Children’s Mental Health Ward of a hospital in Edmonton, Alberta.
After moving to a small town in New Brunswick, she became a mom and switched her teaching focus to toddler and preschool children. This shift ignited her passion for quality education by giving children a voice and a choice over their learning.
During this interview, Jennifer shares with us the methods and philosophies that she uses with children to empower them with valuable skills to support their success in school and in life.
She provides insights into more effective parenting, how to challenge mediocrity and expand children's mindsets.
Jennifer’s philosophies align best to the Reggio Emilia, Forest Schools and Montessori methodologies. She continues to research education systems used around the world, adapting the best parts of their philosophies to create her own preschool curriculum.
She is currently working on an online Parent Program slotted for a release in the Fall of 2016.
